Our Approach
Euro Team Outreach exists to fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ, who told His disciples, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations…” (Matthew 28:19).
Everything we do falls under one of three objectives — three ways of obeying that one command. They aren’t separate departments; they’re three angles on a single work.
Preaching the Gospel
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
This is the heart of it: telling people, plainly, that Jesus Christ died for sinners and rose again, and calls everyone to repent and believe. It has taken many forms over the years — open-air preaching with chalk drawings in a city square, Gospel films shown in mountain villages, a Good and Evil book handed across a table, an unhurried conversation on a street corner. Today it looks like preaching to families gathered in the de-occupied villages of the south, where a box of food opens the door to the message that matters most. The venue changes; the news does not.
Teaching the Bible
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Because we believe the Bible is the greatest evangelistic weapon in our arsenal, we work to get as many people as possible into the Scriptures for themselves. Our primary means is Bible First, the study course we wrote and have refined over the years. Its aim isn’t only to teach the Bible as information; it’s to draw a person closer to God through His own Word — trusting that someone who reads the Scriptures honestly is being drawn toward the most important decision of all, to follow Christ. The same conviction shapes the rest of our teaching: Bible studies in homes as the opportunity comes, and steady teaching in our local church — at present, a verse-by-verse course through the book of Romans.
Discipling Men in Missions
“And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.”
Our desire is to pass on to others what God has taught us — not at arm’s length, but by sharing life. For most of our history this took the form of Carpathian Mountain Outreach: each summer we brought a team to Ukraine to learn the work of a missionary by living it alongside us. We studied the language together, camped together, learned to shop and find our way in a new culture, talked through whatever was going on in each other’s lives, and became friends. The missionary tasks mattered — but so did the years of friendship they grew into. That same heart carries on through our local church today and, we pray, through UGO as it grows into a path for the next generation to take up the work first-hand.
How it all fits together
These three objectives aren't isolated programs — they're three angles on one work, and our ministries move between them.
Bible First (opens in a new tab)
The foundation. If we could do only one thing, it would be this. Through a single course, people hear the Gospel and come to Christ, learn to read the Bible for themselves, and — as we train a new generation of coaches to teach it — are discipled to disciple others. It reaches all three objectives at once, which is why we build so much around it.

The Good and Evil book (opens in a new tab)
Works mostly toward the first two — putting the Gospel and the sweep of the Bible’s story into a person’s hands in a form they’ll actually sit and read. Depending on how it’s used, it can open the door to the third as well.
UGO
Leads with the first — preaching the Gospel, alongside practical aid, in the de-occupied south — and carries the seeds of the third, as we hope it grows into a place where new laborers learn the work. It feeds the second, too: a box of food and a clear word about Jesus is often where a relationship begins, and where Bible First picks up.
Three objectives, one calling — to make Jesus Christ known in Ukraine. If that's a work you'd like to be part of, there's a place for you in it.
